4-Hour Dementia Training Course – Texas
Program Overview
The 4-Hour Dementia Training Course – Texas is designed to give caregivers, direct-care staff, and other assisted living personnel the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, person-centered care for residents living with dementia. This program covers dementia-related diseases and disabilities, person-centered care, observation and documentation, activities of daily living, dementia-related behavioral expressions, and creating a supportive care environment for assisted living communities in Texas.
Spanning seven modules, the course covers understanding dementia and related disorders, person-centered dementia care, observing and documenting individualized care, supporting activities of daily living, understanding and responding to behavioral expressions, creating a supportive dementia care environment, and a capstone module applying every course tool to one continuing resident case. Along the way, participants work through real-world scenarios and Caregiver Pearls, with knowledge checks after every module. The course concludes with a course-level Final Competency Assessment and a Certificate of Completion.
